Betty Lou Elliot, 94

Betty Lou Elliot, 94, of Greenwood Village, Colo., passed away Dec. 1, 2004.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Robert Warner Elliot.

She is survived by a son, Thomas Clark Elliot, daughter-in-law, Kathryn Elliot, and two grandsons, Thomas Clark Elliot Jr., and Robert Braxton Elliot who live in Cherry Hills Village, Colo.

Betty Lou was born on May 3, 1910, in Ottawa, Kan., but grew up on a ranch outside of Jordan. She spent most of her adult life in Miles City, Billings, Whitefish and Kalispell, before moving in recent years to the Denver area.

Betty Lou received her bachelor of arts degree from Baker University and her master degree in education from Eastern Montana College. After working various family businesses, she had a career in elementary education.

A long-time supporter of the arts, Betty Lou was also a published poet and award-winning artist. She was an avid reader, particularly about Montana history and Western art, and enjoyed traveling the world during her lifetime.

Betty Lou was a woman of great dignity, generous heart, had a pioneer spirit and an indomitable sense of humor. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service is planned for Flathead Lake, in Montana, at a future date and interment will be in the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell.
