Flathead owns top ranking in Class AA mat poll

Flathead tops the Class AA wrestling poll heading into the holiday break.

Billings Skyview holds the No. 2 spot with Billings Senior third.

All voting is done by league coaches.

On the individual front, the Braves have five wrestlers who are ranked No. 1. They are: T.C. Decker at 105, Ricky Janes at 112, Ryan Nelson at 130, Chris Thompson at 189 and Brandon Hoffenbacker at 275.

Also ranked in the top four are: Brian Ham, second at 98; Mickey Kuehne, third at 145; Levi Holt, second at 171; and Garrett Woodsen, fourth at 215.

There are only six weight classes where FHS does not have an individual ranked in the top four - 119, 125, 135, 140, 152 and 160.

Flathead's next outing is Jan. 4, a home dual with Missoula Big Sky, 4:30 p.m., and Libby, 7.

To date, the Braves have won the Polson Invitational, finished second at CMR Holiday tournament and third at the Mining City Duals.
