Daniel Robert "Bob" Lawyer, 74

Daniel Robert "Bob" Lawyer, 74, "went to be with the Lord" on Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at 6:15 p.m., at his Kalispell home.

Bob was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Pasadena, Calif., to Ralph and Ruby Lawyer. He grew up in California before moving to Montana in 1987.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bob was a retired United States Forest Service worker.

Bob loved to fish, garden and was always good to go out to eat with family and friends. He loved his family and was loved by all who knew him. He always enjoyed the company of his chocolate lab, Murphy, and was extremely proud of his Porsche.

Bob returned to the Lord in his later years and enjoyed watching the Gaither Homecoming videos and DVDs. He attended New Covenant Fellowship and, after being home bound, he was a part of Kalispell Apostolic Church. Bob was baptized in Jesus' Name by his friend, Pastor Dawn Schnur on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Roxanne Carpenter, and husband, Charles Carpenter of La Crescenta, Calif.; three granddaughters, Amber, Malissa and Willow; and two sisters, Barbara Frost of San Juan Capistrano, Calif., and Shirley Howke of Whitefish.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Kalispell Apostolic Church, 1765 Montana 35 in Kalispell with Rev. D.M. Schnur officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking any memorials to be sent to Hospice,175 Commons Loop, Ste. 100, Kalispell, MT 59901.

The family would like to express a very warm heartfelt thanks to Bob's caregivers, Lynn Schnur, Kalispell Apostolic Church, all of the Hospice nurses and volunteers, as well as those who brought in meals, prayed and were such a wonderful support of Bob and his family. "We also want to thank the many people who have brought joy into Bob's life by being who they were to him."
