Though it wasn't a criminal matter, Kalispell police heard about a young lady who leaned against a traffic sign on Third Avenue East by the Linderman School. She apparently caused the sign to fall off and smash a window on a parked car.

A smashed window at Fatt Boys was a criminal matter, however, since a 22-year-old who allegedly broke it was purposefully beating on the car. Two people restrained him while they waited for the police, who charged him with criminal mischief.

A patron at Scotty's Bar became suspicious when two men offered to sell him speakers from their van, which they said also contained a complete home stereo system. Later, another Scotty's patron was kicked out for fighting, and when police dropped by they arrested him for good measure.

Five youngsters reportedly strolled out of Courthouse East at 11:30 p.m. Friday, though no one knows what they were doing there at that hour. The manager of Gateway West Cinema turned in a fully loaded 10-round magazine for a Glock .45-caliber pistol that someone left in a theater.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested at U.S. 93 and Sunnyview for disorderly conduct, a city warrant and a probation violation. Traffic stops resulted in charges against a 24-year-old man for reckless driving and criminal contempt, and against a 23-year-old man for DUI and no insurance.

A 22-year-old man led police on a brief chase on 13th Street East that ended at Eighth Avenue East. Based on the charges - speeding, running a stop sign, DUI, possessing drug paraphernalia and no insurance - you'd think he'd at least be wearing a seat belt, but he wasn't.
