Yoga donations benefit the Nurturing Center

The Ananda Seva Center for Yoga and the Arts invites new yoga students to a Yoga Day of free classes. Donations will benefit the Nurturing Center of Kalispell.

Six classes will be offered today from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. First-time students should arrive if possible 15 minutes early to register and meet with the teacher.

The Ananda Seva Center is a nonprofit organization bringing the knowledge of yoga and meditation to the Flathead Valley.

Rummage, craft, bake sale continues today

The Yellow Bay Community Club's 21st annual rummage, craft and bake sale continues from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

Household items. clothing, toys, antiques books, tools, homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, and locally grown fruit and vegetables are for sale.

A hearty beef stew prepared by the women's auxiliary is available for lunch.

The Yellow Bay clubhouse is located on Montana 35 at the 18-mile marker.

Kalispell celebrates Fire Prevention Week

The Kalispell Fire Department kicks off Fire Prevention Week 2004 with an open house today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kalispell Fire Station.

Fire and life safety and prevention tips, demonstrations and fire station tours will be included in the activities, along with snacks and refreshments.

The fire station is located at 312 First Ave. E.

Dogtoberfest proceeds benefit Humane Society

The public is invited to attend Dogtoberfest today at 7 p.m. at the Grouse Mountain Lodge Pavilion in Whitefish. Live music will be provide by Country Rock-It. Proceeds benefit the Charlotte Edkins Animal Adoption Center.

Tickets are $25. Outlets are Tails End in Whitefish and the UPS store in Kalispell. Proceeds benefit the center.
