Affordable housing tops Whitefish agenda

| October 18, 2004 1:00 AM

Voluntary affordable housing incentives tops the list of items the Whitefish City Council will discuss Monday night.

The proposed ordinance outlines incentives, such as setbacks and density bonuses, to encourage developers to build affordable homes.

The council also will consider an ordinance that sets a date for annexing five neighborhoods as a result of recent litigation, as well as a resolution to annex a property at 700 Sate Park Road.

Mike Jenson has applied for final plat approval of a four-lot residential subdivision near the southeast corner of Glenwood Road and Dakota Avenue. The council also will consider establishing bike lanes on Baker Avenue.

The council will meet at 5:30 p.m. for a special session in the City Hall chamber conference room to discuss what course of action to take in acquiring land from Burlington Northern Santa Fe for a bike and pedestrian path. The regular meeting begins at 7:10 p.m in City Hall.
