Houses decorated with paintballs

As if the change of seasons doesn't provide enough color, someone continues to splat houses with red, pink and orange paintballs.

Reports came to Kalispell police from Fifth Avenue West North, Sherry Lane, Northern Lights Boulevard, Garland Street and Eighth Avenue West. Some homes were hit multiple times. A paintball triggered a burglary alarm at a business on North Meridian Road.

At about 9 p.m., a woman on Second Avenue East reported that a black SUV hit her parked car and left. Five minutes later, a resident on Eighth Avenue East called to say a black SUV had run into a neighbor's yard. The driver was found and charged with his second DUI.

A vehicle owner called police Sunday afternoon to say his vehicle had been stolen from Kalispell Center Mall sometime after 10:30 p.m. Saturday night and he only realized it Sunday morning. Meanwhile, highway patrol found the vehicle wrecked on Helena Flats Road.

A teenager seen outside in only pajamas caused concern about her welfare. She was gone when officers arrived.

Not only is the bathroom fan loud; it runs all night. So complained a Kenway resident about a neighbor.

On Sixth Avenue East, a man said his girlfriend attacked him and drove away without shoes. Officers made sure they were separated for the night. An ex-wife caused trouble until she was persuaded to go to a motel overnight.

About $2,000 is missing from a home on Fifth Avenue East.

If police have a trio of warrants for your arrest, you shouldn't disturb your neighbors with a loud party. That's what a woman on Airport Road learned on her way to jail.

A window at St. Matthew's church was broken with a pop can. Windows in a vehicle on Sixth Avenue East were also broken. Construction supplies were vandalized at Sunset Court.

A cargo utility trailer was stolen at Mountain West Bank. In other big-vehicle news, a boat and a big shipping container were abandoned on Second Avenue West. A camper was not abandoned, as reported, on West Nevada Street. It was waiting for a hitch repair.

Two "Kerry for President" signs were stolen on Woodland Avenue.

A boy at the high school was arrested on a probation violation Monday.
