Joseph Albert Drewniak, 56

Joseph Albert Drewniak, 56, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Joe was born on Jan. 3, 1948, in Havre, to Francis "Bud" and Sylvia Goerdt Drewniak. He graduated from Malta High School in 1966.

He started working in Cut Bank in 1969, employed by Taylor Well Service, Dodd's Tire Shop, and Philips Petroleum. He moved to the Flathead Valley in 1979, where he did mechanic work for a couple of different shops. He opened his own shop, Sunset Auto, in 1987.

Joe married Deanna Jahnke on June 16, 1984, in Kalispell.

He loved anything and everything with grease on it. He also loved hunting, camping, fishing, bowling and visiting with his friends over a cup of coffee at the shop.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Kalispell and the Glacier Street Rod Association.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sophia and Joseph Drewniak; his maternal grandparents, Tillie and Albert Goerdt; his mother, Sylvia Drewniak; and a daughter, Julie Drewniak.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Deanna; children, Amber Smith, LaNaya Vail, Wally Drewniak, Shawna Drewniak, and Joseph C. Drewniak; father, Francis "Bud" and stepmother, Given Drewniak; sister, Francie Reichert and her husband, Ken; grandchildren, Brianna, James, Jonathan, Easton, Taylor, Jordyn and Jennifer; and brothers and sisters-in-law and extended family.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Private family interment will take place following the services at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Moose Lodge in Kalispell after the funeral service.

Memorials are requested to help with the education expenses for Shawna and J.C. at 22 Sunset Drive, Kalispell.
