Shari Marie McCann Harris, 43, died on Sept. 23, 2004 at her home in Whitefish after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Shari was born in Billings on Aug. 9, 1961, to Donald L. and Joneva Svetich McCann. Shari attended elementary schools in Yellowstone National Park and Billings. She graduated from high school in Bozeman in 1979 after spending a year as a foreign exchange student in Japan with her host parents, Mikio and Asako Akune. She later returned to Japan where she attended college before returning to college in Bozeman.

She applied her many talents and creative ability successfully in both her personal life and business pursuits. She married Rex Harris in Havre on May 18, 1985, and was the proud and loving mother of two sons, Evan Alexander and Adam Lee, who were the center of her life. Shortly after they were married, she and Rex also chose to be host parents to Margarita Toral of Cuenco, Ecuador.

Shari was a caring, giving person who will be remembered for her generosity and take-charge way of helping anyone who needed her.

She is survived by her husband, Rex, and her sons, Evan and Adam, all of Whitefish; her parents, Don and Jonny of Kalispell; her sister, Lesli McIntosh of Kalispell; her brother, Mike McCann, and sister-in-law Liz, and nephews, Jesse and Zach McCann of Meeker, Colo., a large

extended family and friends who love her deeply and will hold her in their hearts forever.

A memorial service is planned at 11 a.m., Oct. 9, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Whitefish.

Memorials maybe made to Wings at 310 Sunnyview Lane, Kalispell, MT 59901; or to the charity of your choice.
