Whitefish police

| April 1, 2005 1:00 AM

Whitefish police report bears romping through town, particularly on Wisconsin, Edgewood, and Dakota Avenues. Police remind businesses and residences north of the railroad tracks about a trash container law intended to discourage bears. On the day of trash pickup by the city or other hauler, trash cans may not be left by the curb before 4 a.m. and they must be returned to a house, garage or other bear-proof enclosure by 7 p.m. that day.

A theft was reported at the high school.
