GREAT FALLS - A few early season snafus, but overall a pretty good day.

That's how Flathead softball coach Dale Beerman described the Bravette effort Friday at the Great Falls Jamboree.

The Bravettes won three of their four softball games. Flathead defeated Bozeman 4-0, Great Falls High 2-0 and Laurel 8-2, but fell 4-0 to CMR.

Each game lasted five innings or one hour, whichever came first. The results do not count in season standings.

No further statistics were available.

"These young kids played pretty well. I was really happy with them," Beerman said.

"I think our older kids are going to see they have to pick it up some.

"It was good to do this. You kind of know where you stand and what you need to work on.

"The consensus of all the coaches - this was a good thing," he said of the jamboree.

He complimented the efforts of senior pitcher Britanni Danielson as well as sophomore third baseman Christina Zorn, freshman pitcher Courtney Sverdrup, sophomore center fielder Leslie Quay, Britney Lingle and Spencer Schmaltz.

Flathead took 19 softball players to the jamboree.

"A lot of kids played today. That helps your whole program."

The Bravettes play host at 4:30 p.m. Thursday to Sentinel. There will be one varsity game and one JV contest, played simultaneously.
