Dallas M. Munter, 79, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2005, at his home in Kalispell.

He was born on Nov. 15, 1925, in Kalispell, the son of Allan J. and Eleanor (Fenner) Munter. They lived in the Flathead Valley and he graduated from Flathead County High School in 1943.

Following graduation he enlisted in the Navy and served in World War II. After his discharge, he attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland.

On Aug. 29, 1949, he married Edna McNeil in Kalispell. They returned to Kalispell after graduating from Multnomah, and Dallas took up farming. While they were on the farm, Dallas and Edna started the Christian Book Supply. After building a few houses, Dallas moved his young family and the growing store to town and became a contractor. He eventually turned his focus to plumbing which he continued until his retirement.

Dallas was an active member of Central Bible Church from its very beginning. He and Edna went on short-term mission trips to Africa to help his sister Ellie in Liberia and the family went to Alaska to help with a building project. For 10 years they went to Olney every Sunday and led the Sunday School there. He actively supported Big Sky Bible Camp and helped with various building projects.

An avid reader, Dallas had many interests and enjoyed hours of study. His favorite place to be was the family property at Echo Lake and he made it a haven for his family and friends.

Dallas was a godly and faithful man. He was excited to go and be with the Lord. The impact of his life will continue and those he touched will never be the same.

Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Eleanor; and his sister, Ellie.

Dallas is now survived by his wife, Edna Munter, at the family home in Kalispell; five daughters, Beth Brown and husband, Dave, Naomi Stutzman and husband, Tim, Lois Shawback and husband, Dave, Mary Lodien and husband, Ray, and Martha Tannehill and husband, Scott, all of Kalispell. He also survived by his "adopted by heart" extended families, Dave and Linda Creighton of Kalispell, Marty and Cindy Cole of Ocean Park, Wash., Julie and Rick Staley of Kalispell, and Kerry Price Ader of Panama City, Fla.; 24 grandchildren, Jeremy Brown, Eleanor Quick, Esther Hughes, Emily and Jesse Brown, Landis Stutzman, Tim Stutzman, Ruth Plitt, Casey Stutzman, Dallas Shawback, Logan Shawback, Philip and Brandon Lodien, Holly and Megha Tannehill, Michael, Jonathan, Jason, and Nicole Creighton, Jonathan Cole, Joseph, Amy and Andrew Talarico and Dekoda Price; and 11 great-grandchildren, Mailli, Jamin, Isaak, Christopher, Olivia, Sean, Jakob, Mikah, Deseree, Cora and Daniel.
