Bonnie Arlene Walker, 79
Bonnie Arlene Walker, 79, made her peaceful transition from this life at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell, on April 11, 2005, with her family by her side. She suffered with COPD and asbestosis for several years.
Bonnie was born on Jan. 31, 1926, in Fairmount, N.D., to Leslie and Winnefred (McIlhargey) Huffman. She grew up and was educated in Whitefish.
Bonnie married Raymond Walker in the early 1940's and moved to Libby, in 1954, where Raymond drove logging trucks for a living.
She enjoyed homemaking, gardening, visiting family, knitting, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, camping, fishing, playing games, and bowling and pool leagues. She occasionally accompanied her husband in his logging truck and loved spending time with him in the mountains.
After Raymond's retirement years, Bonnie devoted her compassionate care to him until his passing in 1989. Bonnie then moved to Bigfork, in 2003, to be near to her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Wynne Stelljes.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Hall and son-in-law, Dan of Bigfork; two granddaughters, Jackie LeBlanc, her husband, Bob, and their sons, Robert and Aaron of Fortine, Heidi Freemantle, her husband, Mark, and their two daughters, Hannah and Maya of Flagstone, Australia; two brothers, Eugene Huffman of Libby, and Verl Huffman of Salt Lake City; two sisters, Ardis Moss of Seattle, and Joyce Lamb of Spokane; and several nieces and nephews.
Bonnie gave her love generously to her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her. She loved life, traveling, Montana (especially Libby), music (especially Irish), all sports (especially the Seattle Mariners), and playing games (especially Kismet).
To honor her request there will be no services. The family suggests contributions be made in her memory to The American Lung Association of Montana 825 Helena Avenue, Helena, MT 59601 or POB 5537, Helena, MT 59604-5537.
Johnson Mortuary and Crematory is caring for Bonnie's family.
