Two frightened boys on Rufenach Lane reported an intruder in the house who was getting into cabinets. Deputies responded quickly and found no one in the home, but noticed a garbage can that joined forces with the wind to make scary noises.

Wind was the culprit in a number of Mother Nature's acts of vandalism early Thursday. Trees fell on a power line on Montana 35. A tree fell across the road, blocking the southbound lane of Montana 209. Power lines fell on Foothills Road and on Swan River Road, keeping Bigfork fire department running. South Kalispell fire department was needed when a power line smoked on Patrick Creek Road.

A cat was reported stolen on Fir Lane, where a boy saw someone in an orange pickup filch the feline.

A man was picked up for a mental health evaluation after a report of indecent exposure at Meadow Lark Trailer Court.

A deputy went to Shirley's house and then to Brenda's house to try to resolve a dispute between them about trash on one woman's property.

Threatening and racial messages were left on a phone on Batavia Lane.

Someone who reported a Church Drive resident with hundreds of dogs overshot the estimate by quite a bit. The owner did have 23 dogs, though, and officials found that they are being cared for. Another report about a howling dog on Nicholson Drive was made; a deputy went and heard no howling.

A cell phone was stolen from a vehicle at the Church of the Nazarene parking lot Wednesday. Items are missing on Conrad Drive where someone broke a window to get into a home. Jewelry on Park Knoll Lane has been missing for more than a month

A woman was arrested after a domestic disturbance on Mooring Road. A girl reportedly pulled a knife on her mother on Middle Road. Another family problem was reported on Stag Lane.

There was something suspicious about that guy at Shopko who was moving items from the gardening center at around midnight, a witness thought. The man said he works there. A resident on Aspen Loop didn't like it when two people were walking around at 5 a.m. and then fled when she got near them.

Two boys went to youth detention after an assault was reported at Bigfork School. Threats were also reported in Bigfork.

Fraud was reported on Whalebone Drive.
