Jacqueline Alice "Jac" Brewer, 91, of Lakeside, and Glacier Park, died peacefully Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at her home in Lakeside, of age-related causes.

She was born in Williston, N.D. on Dec. 24, 1913, to the late Sidney J. and Bertha D. (Leriger) Creaser. She graduated from Williston High School as the valedictorian at age 16 and spent two years studying at the College of Saint Catherine in St. Paul, Minn.

She lived and worked in Kansas City, Mo., for several years where she met and married her husband, William David "Dave" Brewer Jr. in 1943. They spent 10 years living in Falls Church, Va. and 22 years in McLean, Va., before retiring to Lakeside, in 1975.

Mrs. Brewer began coming to Glacier Park with her family when she was two years old and spent most of her summers there. The late Eddie Kruger built the family cabin on Lake McDonald for her parents in the winter of 1917/18, when the only transportation was by boat from Apgar. She was one of the last "old timers" who knew Charlie Russell and the Park before Going-to-the-Sun Road opened.

Mrs. Brewer was a homemaker, animal lover, accomplished horsewoman and Audubon enthusiast for most of her life. She supported and was an active member of many environmental organizations. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, needlepoint and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a younger brother, Sidney J. Creaser Jr, who died in 1947.

She is survived by her husband, W. Dave Brewer, of Lakeside; two children, Beth Spatz and Jonathan of Allison Park, Pa., and Bill Brewer and Dee Ann Hall of Eugene, Ore.; and six grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held in Glacier Park, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Glacier Fund, P.O. Box 14, West Glacier, MT 59936, or "http://www.glacierfund.org"
