Ruth Maxine (Honey) Mildren, 85

Ruth Maxine (Honey) Mildren, 85, of Kalispell, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2005, after battling a terminal illness for several months.

Ruth was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Olympia, Wash., to Favil and Clara Honey. She attended Olympia High School in Washington and graduated from Simpson Bible School in Seattle. Ruth went on to attended Nyack Missionary College in Nyack, N.Y., where she graduated from there in 1945.

After graduating from Nyack College, she moved to the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas to do missionary work. This is where she met her husband Ora Mildren. They were married in 1946, in Olympia.

In 1953 the Mildrens moved to Kalispell to take care of Ora's parents.

She was a charter member of Evergreen Alliance Church where she was involved with many different ministries as well as committees of the church.

Ruth's vibrant personality attracted all ages of people who came in contact with her. She loved people. Along with her love for people, she enjoyed baking, making crafts and spending time outdoors, especially camping and hiking in Glacier Park. She was a great woman of both spiritual and physical strength.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ora; her parents; four sisters; three brothers; her infant son and daughter; and her daughter-in-law, Jan Mildren.

She is survived by her son, Steven Mildren, residing in Rapid City, S.D.; and two grandchildren, Philip Mildren of Colorado and Alycia Mildren of New York.

A celebration of her life will commence with a viewing on Friday, April 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Family members will be present at that time. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at Faith Alliance Church, 348 Second Ave. West, Kalispell, MT 59901.
