A man apparently unclear on the concept of "normal business hours," dumped a wrecked vehicle by the side of the entrance to the landfill Saturday afternooon when he was informed that the facility was closed for the day. Flathead County Sheriff's Office made contact with the suspect, who agreed to pick up the vehicle and return with it at a more appropriate time.

Criminal mischief was reported early Sunday morning at an Evergreen motel. Several people were drinking and one man's hat got torched and then dropped into the pool. Most of the group was gone when the officer arrived.

A trapped dog was reported at a house on Zimmerman Road. The lab mix had gotten stuck behind a dryer and the owner couldn't pull him out. The sheriff's office was called, but a friend came over to assist with the tow and the call was canceled.

Two preteen kids were reported to be riding motorized scooters without helmets on River Road Sunday morning. An officer spoke to one of the children's parents about the unsafe riding procedure.
