Eva Marie Christian, 89

Eva Marie Christian, 89, a lifetime member of the Whitefish community, died July 29, 2005, at the Colonial Manor of natural causes.

Eva was born April, 26, 1916, to Chiana and Alex Christian in Whitefish. She was employed by the Big Mountain Ski Resort and the Montana Veterans Home for a number of years. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and Saint Charles Catholic Church since her birth. She taught Sunday school and always looked forward to her weekly dinners after Mass with her friends.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Tony, Louie, Frank and Albert; her sisters, Rose and Abrosina; and her nephew, Alvin "Nitch" Naccarato.

Eva is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She has been blessed with many close friends who helped care for her. She leaves behind her little dog Fluffy.

Viewing will take place 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 with a rosary and prayer vigil at 7 p.m. at the Austin Funeral Home in Whitefish.

Funeral will be held 10 a.m. on Aug. 5 at Saint Charles Catholic Church in Whitefish with burial in the Whitefish Cemetery, followed by a fellowship at Saint Charles Parrish Hall.

Memorials may be made in honor and remembrance of Eva to one's choice.Earl Lewis Munter, 88A gentle and kind man, Earl Lewis Munter, 88, formally of Kalispell, passed from this life July 31 2005, in Glendive. Earl was born in Kalispell on Dec. 16, 1916, the son of Victor and Clara (Christopherson) Munter.He had been a lifelong resident of Kalispell, until failing health brought him to live in Glendive to be closer to family. He resided at the extended care facility for four years. He graduated from Flathead County High School and went to work as a mechanic, later a partner/owner at Kalispell Wrecking Company. He worked there for 45 years. He married Marilyn Winters, was divorced and later married Mary Lou Caveny. He retired from the wrecking company in 1977. Earl and Mary Lou had 22 years of retirement which they spent doing the things they enjoyed. Earl was an avid garage sale shopper, buying and fixing up bicycles for grandchildren and to sell. He loved to garden, take care of the yard, and visit around town with old acquaintances. He enjoyed nearly 50 years together before Mary Lou's death in 1999. He was a member of the Central Christian Church. The family wishes to thank all who were a special part of Earl's life. Thank you to the untiring staff of the Glendive Extended Care facility for their loving care. Earl was happy and felt at home - the family appreciated all that was done for him. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother Elmer; sister Doris (Bud) Dukleth; and wife, Mary Lou.He is survived by two sons, Michael Munter of Spokane, and Roger Munter of Kalispell; and two daughters, Lynn (Lou) Billedeaux of Glendive, and Marie (Ali) Rami of Hawthorne, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maybelle Stillman of Sugar City, Idaho. Special to Earl and Mary Lou were their adopted family, Marshall and Susan Payne of Cheyenne, Wyo. The Payne children, Charley and Scott became as their own and held a special place in their lives.Graveside services and internment will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell, when at that time Earl and Mary Lou will be laid to rest together. All are invited to attend this service. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Johnson Mortuary Chapel. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Glendive Extended Care Unit in Glendive. Johnson Mortuary and Crematory is caring for Earl's family here in Kalispell.
