The Flathead County Sheriff's Office contacted an animal warden after a call at 1 a.m. Monday, saying people were in peril from a growling mountain lion at a cabin off of Eastman Drive. The beast was first said to be trapped under the cabin, but then was said to be roaming free, where the caller feared it would attack people. They turned out to be safe. The mountain lion was actually a family of raccoons.

There was a face-off on the Kiwanis bridge Sunday, when two vehicles met up and neither driver wanted to back off of the one-lane bridge. One finally did, but he also reportedly took a gun from his trunk and pointed it at the other driver.

On East Lakeshore Drive, a boat full of young men made their presence known by swearing and urinating. At the public dock in Bigfork was more uncivilized behavior.

A deputy spoke to a Konley Drive resident who has seen someone throwing and kicking a dog.

There was a stench on Mountain Meadow Road, where something was wrapped and reeking in a tarp that attracted bees. It turned out to be a dead yearling moose.

A resident on McGregor Lake complained that a neighbor's pontoon boat had drifted onto her property.

First, that driver on Bay Harbor Drive nearly hit a woman walking her dog, according to her husband. Then, the driver kept cruising past the house.

There were several noise complaints, including one about Satanic music on Concord Lane.

There weren't any underage drinkers at a party near West Glacier, as reported by a witness.

Arson is suspected in a bus fire at the Nazarene Church overnight. The Evergreen Fire Department went.

On Brunner Road, a resident said her brother kicked in a shed and stole her WeedEater. Saddles and tack were taken in a burglary in Hungry Horse. A possible burglary was reported on U.S. 93.

After three calls about her behavior, a woman at the Deerlick Saloon in Martin City was finally arrested early Monday.

Logs spilled on U.S. 2 near Marion when a logging truck crashed. ALERT, Marion ambulance and Fire Department, Highway Patrol, and Office of Emergency Service were notified. The driver reportedly suffered a head injury.
