Flathead County Sheriff's Office negotiated Monday for the surrender of the man who they think robbed the Kmart pharmacy at gunpoint Friday night.

An arrest warrant was issued Monday for the 32-year-old suspect.

Sheriff's detective Cmdr. Bruce Parish said a good tip and good police work led officers to identify the man. His name has not been released, pending his arrest.

Parish said a pharmacy worker gave the man Norco and Percocet - prescription pain killers - when he showed her a revolver and demanded the drugs. No one was hurt.

Officers had a tip about a man with a drug problem who fit the description of the robber.

The clerk picked him out of a photo lineup, Parish said.

When Parish went to the man's Kalispell house, he learned that the suspect had left town.

Parish was in phone contact with the man Monday, trying to talk him into turning himself in.

The man was headed through eastern Montana when Parish last spoke to him, he said.
