Two people were killed in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning near Lakeside.

The driver has been identified as Kyle Carlson, 38, of Littleton, Colo. The passenger was Patrick Tucker, 44, of Lakeside.

According to deputy coroner Jim Browder of the Flathead County Sheriff's Office, both men were ejected from the Cadillac Escalade, which was headed toward Lakeside and approximately 2 1/2 miles up the Blacktail Road, when the accident occurred. The vehicle left the roadway, rolled once and then continued on several hundred feet before striking a tree.

The Montana Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the crash, which was not discovered until Saturday afternoon.

A second crash took the life of a 26-year old Missoula County man, also on Saturday. The accident, which involved a single motorcycle, occurred on Montana 83 at the north end of Salmon Lake.

The Montana Highway Patrol said the man came around a curve too quickly and lost control when he slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting a truck parked on the side of the road.
