Marvin Ray Leland, 48, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at the Wylie Group Home in Missoula. He was born Aug. 4, 1957, in Townsend to Robert and Caroline Ann (Doggett) Leland.
Marvin moved to Kalispell in 1961 with his family, where he lived until he was 21. He moved to Boulder in 1978; and in 2002, Marvin moved to Missoula, where he resided until his death. He loved to go for rides and take walks.
Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Robert.
He is survived by his mother, Caroline Leland, of Kalispell; two brothers, Melvin of Toledo, Ohio, and Mark Leland and wife, Stacy, of Stanwood, Wash.; one sister, Shirley Fuller, of Columbia Falls; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Marvin will be from noon until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at Johnson Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at Johnson Mortuary with Pastor Darrell Newby officiating. Burial will follow at the Glacier Memorial Gardens.

Edward Frank 'Ed' Strachota, 78
Edward Frank "Ed" Strachota, 78, passed away Tuesday Aug. 9, 2005, at his home in Kalispell. Ed was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Chicago to Frank and Marie (Miklica) Strachota.
After high school, he attended Purdue University, where he graduated with a degree in engineering. He later attended Northwestern University.
Ed joined the Navy, where he served as an electronic technician's mate. He was honorably discharged in June of 1959.
He worked as an aerospace engineer for Lockheed Marten and also for NASA. Later, he was a licensed real estate salesman in both Colorado and Montana.
He married Marilyn Smith and would have celebrated their wedding anniversary this month. He loved golfing, boating and dearly loved being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Kalispell; children, Larry and his wife, Nancy Strachota, Cheryl and her husband, Charles Bloom, Deborah Catello and Tim Strachota; and grandchildren, Cory and his wife, Cara Bloom, Chris Hicks and David Bloom.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with the Deacon Fred Topp officiating.
The family requests donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Patrick D. Tucker, was born Nov. 10, 1960, in Polson, "went to be with our Lord and Savior," on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, in Lakeside.
Although Patrick was young when he left this world to be in heaven, he lived a great life! He loved his wife Angela who calls him "her knight in shining armor"; they were married July 18, 1998.
He was a very dedicated father to his sons, Coby and Tyler.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and was a sports fanatic. He grew up in the Flathead Valley and had many wonderful friends. In high school he was an all conference wide receiver his senior year for the Polson Pirates football team. He was an avid Oakland Raiders football fan.
He was a very skilled butcher working at M & S Meats for over 14 years. He also beat the whole family at every trivia game we played. But he did it with a smile.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen and Pauline Daley.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Tucker, and sons, Coby and Tyler of the home in Lakeside; his parents, Kip and Glenda Knote, of Kalispell; his sister, Trisha Tucker, and nephew, Jake, of Kalispell; his brother, Mick Tucker, and niece, Tess, of Lakeside; and nephew, Tanner Tucker, of Denver; stepbrothers, Kip Knote and wife, Arlene, and nieces, Addison and Dana, and Cory Knote and wife, Tracie, and nieces, Stacie, Meghan and Emma, all of Denver; aunts, Lois Buck of Lakeside, and Gretchen Baker of Ronan; grandparents, Gerald and Helen Knote, of Great Falls; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and friends. He also leaves behind his faithful dog, Hunter. His wife and sons would like everyone to know that his memory will continue on in everything that they do. He was well loved and well lived! He will be sadly missed by all.
Memorial services for Patrick will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor John Ulrich officiating. There will be no visitation.
