Douglas Bruce Tibke, 84

Douglas Bruce Tibke, 84, died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.

He was born Aug. 22, 1920, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Jacob and Sena Tibke. In 1921, the family moved to Cascade, where they lived until moving to Kalispell in 1934.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific theater of operations.

He was married to Marguerite V. Johnston on April 27, 1944.

He farmed and ranched and logged in various parts of Montana before returning to the Flathead in 1997.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite, a son, Darwin, three sisters, and three brothers.

He is survived by his son, Edwin Tibke, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; three sisters, Mrs. Mayme Abraham of Kalispell, Grace Hanson of Cut Bank, and Betty Held of Bigfork; three grandsons, Ron and Don Tibke of Helena, and Reno Tibke of Portland; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Fairview Cemetery with military graveside honors.

Arrangements are with the Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.
