Woman arrested in Whitefish Thursday

A Great Falls woman was arrested in Whitefish Thursday afternoon on a rape charge.

Great Falls Police notified Whitefish that they believed Michele Evonne Malady, 41, was on her way there, armed with a shotgun and possibly suicidal. She is reportedly a teacher in Great Falls, charged with sexual intercourse without consent with a 14-year-old student.

A warrant with $75,000 bond was issued for her arrest.

Police Chief Bill Dial said Malady was found at a friend's home in Whitefish and was arrested without incident.

She will be returned to Great Falls..
