Harry F. Geis, 80

Harry F. Geis, 80, passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell.

He was born Sept. 19, 1924, at Choteau, the son of William "Bill" Joseph and Luella "Fern" (Allum) Geis. He was raised in Choteau until he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in January 1942. He was engaged in five different campaigns in the South Pacific during World War II. He was discharged in 1946.

During this time, he met and married the light of his life, Myrtle I. Moon, from Kalispell. They were married Sept. 28, 1944. After the war, they moved to Kalispell, where they raised their family.

Over the years, Harry worked on Hungry Horse Dam, at the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company, and as a car salesman in later years.

Harry was a very family orientated man. Once you met him, you became part of the family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters-in-law, Ken Manning and Marge Manning, Al Baird and Helen Baird, and Bud Moon and Joyce Moon; also his sister, Helen Broyals, and her husband, Carl, and their family.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bud Geis and Verel Geis; also brother-in-law, Carl Broyals.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Geis, of Kalispell; two daughters, Frances "Frankie" Moore of Kalispell, and Sharron Robertson and husband, Duff, of Trout Creek; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Broylas, of Pittsburg, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a get-together and potluck at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the family home, 776 Sunset Blvd., in Kalispell, to celebrate Harry's life. As per Harry's wishes, he will be cremated.
