Roy N. Arnold, 78

Roy N. Arnold, 78, was born Aug. 24, 1926, to Jessie and Roy Arnold Sr. He passed away Aug. 14, 2005, at the Washington State Veterans Home in Spokane.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Minnie Arnold, of Spokane; children, Matt Arnold and Lenya Treewater Arnold of Seattle, Mark and Robin Arnold, John and Stephanie Arnold, Cathy and Mike Sacco, Joe Arnold, and Beth and Jim Brasch, all of Spokane, Peggy and Scott Spiegelberg of Corvallis, Ore., Tom and Kathleen Arnold, and Bill and Dina Arnold, all of Spokane; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Roy graduated from Whitefish High School, worked in Glacier National Park, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

He attended Gonzaga University and was a member of the Men's Glee Club.

He worked in the commercial insurance industry for 40 years, retiring in 1992.

Roy was most proud of his association with Lloyd's of London.

He was a member of AA for 29 years and also served on numerous boards and committees during his life.

Roy was loved deeply by his wife and family. He touched many lives in many ways. "He will be sorely missed by all until we are reunited with him again."

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, with a vigil service afterward at 7 p.m., both at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 505 W. Thomas More Way, in Spokane.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A committal service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gonzaga Prep's Fair Share Program, 1224 E. Euclid, Spokane, WA 99207; or to the Alzheimer's Association, 601 W. Maxwell Ave., Ste. 4, Spokane, WA 99201-2418.
