Rockhound Club hosts annual show
The Kalispell Rockhound Club's annual gems, rocks and mineral show opens at 10 a.m. today and Sunday at the WestCoast Kalispell Center Hotel.
Colorful displays of minerals, agates, gem stones, crystals and jewelry will be on display and for sale.
Demonstrations, a silent auction, door prizes and a raffle also will be offered.
Admission is $2 for adults and free for children younger than 12 who are accompanied by adults. Children can participate in youths' crafts and activities.

Glacier Park picnic is Sunday
The annual Glacier National Park reunion picnic for all employees, retirees and park friends will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the park headquarters community building.
A potluck dinner will be served at 2 p.m.
Participants should bring a main dish, and a salad or dessert if possible, and their own "before dinner" drinks if desired. Coffee, cold drinks and tableware will be furnished.

Polson Fly-in kicks off today
The seventh annual Polson Fly-in gets under way today, kicking off with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. at the Polson City Airport. Experimental, antique and classic planes will be on display, along with several "war birds."
Children ages 8 to 17 can climb aboard a Young Eagle flight from 9 a.m. to noon.
Lunch is available from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Polson Soroptimist Festival, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the airport, completes the day's events. Tickets are $25.

Summer fest for kids today in Whitefish
Children are invited to the Dog Days of Summer from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Whitefish City Beach.
Free hot dogs and school supplies will be available while supplies last. At 1:30 p.m., a drawing for free prizes will be held.
The grand prize is a new bike.
