Mary Ann Holzapfel, 65

Mary Ann Holzapfel, 65, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at her home in Kalispell. Mary Ann was born Aug. 20, 1940, in Pittsburgh, to Anthony and Amelia Shelkons Stugan. Mary Ann was raised with two brothers and four sisters. She graduated from Allegheny High School in 1957.

She married Norbert P. Holzapfel in 1959. Norbert died in the Tet Offensive in Vietnam in 1968. They had two sons, Mike and Joe.

She worked as a restaurant manager for several different restaurants. May Ann attended a restaurant management school with 27 other people. Only seven graduated, and Mary Ann was the only female graduate. She graduated with honors from the school.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norbert; one son, Joseph; and two sisters, Rita and Amelia Stugan.

She is survived by her son, Mike, and his wife, Lynn; two sisters, Loretta Jane Lurimore and Terry Stugan; two brothers, John Stugan and Anthony Stugan Jr.; grandchildren, Crystal, Terra and Mindy Holzapfel; and one step-grandson, Jeffrey Holzapfel.

Memorial services were held in private.
