Jack Thompson, 71

Jack Thompson, 71, passed away Dec. 4, 2005, after a lengthy illness.

Jack was born in Burley, Idaho, on Jan. 10, 1934, to George and Sibil Thompson. He was raised in Rupert, Idaho, with brother, Glenn, and sisters, Linda and Susan.

Jack was one of the founding members of the North Valley Search and Rescue, serving as president for the past 20-plus years. He was also involved in various community organizations.

Jack retired from the Columbia Falls Aluminum Company in the early 1990s.

He was preceded in death by both parents; his brother, Glenn; daughter, Paula; and son, Steve.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Julie, and her husband, John Grange, of Snohomish, Wash.; his son, Allen, and his wife, Kristianna Thompson, currently stationed at Naval Base Ventura County in California; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Jack was loved deeply and will be missed by all.

Services are at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 8, at Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls.
