| December 17, 2005 1:00 AM

Two men died in a vehicle collision on Montana 35 near Creston Friday morning.

Killed were Jerold Bryars, 59, of Columbia Falls and Sherwin Bevan, 63, of Ferndale.

Flathead County Deputy Coroner Jim Browder said Bevan was driving northbound when he apparently crossed the center line of Montana 35 and struck Bryars' vehicle head-on. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Bryars' wife, Sharon, was flown by ALERT helicopter to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. She was listed in serious condition in intensive care at the hospital Friday afternoon.

Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the accident, which happened at about 6 a.m. The highway was said to be icy and foggy at the time of the crash.

Creston and Kalispell fire departments also responded, along with Bigfork ambulance.

Browder said the crash caused traffic problems for about three hours.

One driver, Eugene Clark, was cited with failing to use caution while approaching a stationery emergency vehicle for reportedly driving past barricade cones set up near the accident.
