| December 29, 2005 1:00 AM

Flathead County Sheriff's Office was called to a youth shelter Wednesday for a report that three teenagers conspired to poison an employee. A deputy investigated and found the two boys and one girl put sleeping pills in coffee, but didn't intend to hurt the employee; they were just allegedly plotting a deep sleep so they could engage in some unsupervised activities together. They were taken to the youth detention center, where the girl was also charged with assaulting jail staff and assault with a bodily fluid for allegedly spitting on an officer. Both of those charges are felonies.

Emergency services were dispatched to a number of traffic accidents, but none caused serious injuries. They included a vehicle over an embankment on Big Mountain Road, a rollover on Beaver Lake Road, a log-spilling truck in a ditch on Pleasant Valley Road. Wednesday afternoon, deep slush near West Glacier on U.S. 2. caused dangerous driving conditions, according to the Department of Transportation.

Because of weather, ALERT helicopter couldn't fly to Blacktail Mountain for an injured skier Wednesday. Kalispell Fire Department said it was too shorthanded to send an ambulance. Bigfork Fire & Medical didn't respond to a page. Lakeside Quick Response unit took the man to the hospital.

A resident complained of threatening calls from a credit-card company. A deputy had a talk with a woman about the harassing calls she's been leaving on an answering machine.

Yelling and threatening were reported in Hungry Horse.

On Karrow Avenue, a resident complained of a vehicle full of people pulling up and one man relieving himself on the lawn.

A car was vandalized at Kmart. A sign was vandalized on Haskill Basin Road.

There was a rash of unwanted people reported, mostly at homes and at one hotel where someone on the "do-not-rent list" appeared. She left before officers arrived. An unwanted man on Angel Point Road was charged with disorderly conduct. An unwelcome man reportedly punched a woman in the head and tore up the house.

There were several assaults and fights reported. A man said a woman trashed his place and hit him with a plate or a candle.

No word on why a woman in just a T-shirt and pants sat on a guardrail on Political Hill before midnight; she was gone when a deputy arrived. A lightly dressed man caused concern on Whitefish Stage Road at 4 a.m.; he explained he "just wanted to walk."
