Action on Helena Flats subdivision postponed

Two Flathead County commissioners postponed action on a major Helena Flats subdivision on Thursday, preferring to have the full board available before deciding whether to approve or deny the project.

Commissioners Joe Brenneman and Bob Watne agreed to continue the preliminary plat for Pressentine Ranch until 10 a.m. on Feb. 9. They both felt Commissioner Gary Hall should be present for the decision.

Hall was in Great Falls on Thursday for the appearance by President Bush.

Pressentine Ranch is an 82-lot residential subdivision on 165 acres along Helena Flats Road, just east of the intersection with Birch Grove Road. The Flathead County Planning Board unanimously recommended approval of the project last month.

Before continuing the matter, Brenneman said this was "the kind of subdivision we should be encouraging."
