Patty Lou Abell, 48

Patty Lou Abell, 48, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at her residence in Kalispell.

She was born on March 2, 1956, in Springfield, Ore., the daughter of John Andrew and Edna May (Platt) Thomas. Patty attended schools in Springfield and graduated from Thurston High School in the class of 1974.

In 1981, she was united in marriage to Brad Abell in Columbia Falls. They later divorced.

She worked as a custodian at Plum Creek for a number of years. She later went to work in housekeeping at Kalispell Regional Medical Center and worked until retiring for health purposes.

She enjoyed horseback riding and hunting and being in the outdoors. She was a past member of the America Quarter Horse Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Christina Sires and her husband, Jesse, of Ft. Wainwright, Ark.; three grandchildren, Tyler, Gavin and Lauren, all of Ft. Wainwright; her son, Michael Carmen Burgoyne of Kalispell; one sister, Linda VanKampen of Marcola, Ore.; and two brothers, Barry Thomas and Michael Thomas both, of Oregon.

Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Johnson Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Bud Bowers officiating. There will be no visitation.

The family suggests that any memorial contributions be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
