Edward "Eddy" Shea, 90

Edward "Eddy" Shea, 90, passed away on Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at Heritage Place in Kalispell.

Eddy was born on Aug. 30, 1914, in Lima, Ohio. He was a World War II veteran who was wounded at the Invasion of Normandy. He worked as an entertainer for most of his life, then as a bartender for several years, not retiring until he was in his '70s.

He married Gracie Larsen in 1957. She passed away in 2001. They moved to the Flathead Valley in 1989.

Eddy enjoyed being with his friends, loved golfing, and will always be remembered for his hand-made personalized cards that he sent out to over 200 people throughout the valley for every holiday, birthday or anything he felt that was important. Numerous households, and many offices in this valley have his wonderful hand-drawn and colored cards hanging in them.

Eddy was a member of the United Veterans of the Flathead Valley, member of the Moose Lodge in Whitefish, and was very proud to have been sober for the past 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 47 years, Gracie.

He is survived by his six children, Nancy Heiner, Susan Nickell, Tom Nickell, Cathi Corgiat, Terri Davis and Muirya Galduroz;16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Bartholomew officiating. Veterans honors will be conducted by the United Veterans of the Flathead Valley following the services in the funeral home parking lot.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial be made to Home Options Hospice of Kalispell.
