FVCC schedules bond award
The board of trustees of Flathead Valley Community College will hold a special meeting at noon Thursday to award the sale of bonds to expand the college.
Trustees also will discuss land issues at the meeting in room 140 of Blake Hall on the Kalispell campus.
The sale comes after two years of legal wrangling over the college's December 2002 mail-in ballot bond election in which voters approved $15.8 million to expand and upgrade the campus.
A recent Montana Supreme Court decision finally cleared the way for the college to move forward with the project. The court dismissed an appeal by radio station owner John Stokes and State Rep. George Everett of the district court's dismissal of their lawsuit.
On Thursday, trustees will consider the bids for $9.9 million in bonds. College officials expect to sell the remaining bonds later.
