Uhde, Salway face off in Club Boxing

The featured event tonight for Club Boxing pits a couple of talented fighters in a 150-pound bout.
Jesse Uhde, 26, is scheduled to meet Jesse Salway, 29, of Browning.
Uhde, 4-1 this season and 21-4 overall, trains three times a week at the Kalispell Jaycees boxing club.
Salway brings a perfect record into Wednesday Night at the Fights, 7-0 to date this season. Overall, he is 15-2.
Gates open at 6 p.m. at Majestic Valley Arena with boxing at 7:30.
General admission is $10 and ringside seats are $15. Tables are $150. Tables can be reserved by calling Majestic Valley Arena.
Uhde's first introduction to boxing came at the age of 15.
After a five-year break, he returned to the ring, posting an 8-3 mark and winning the Montana State novice tournament (Golden Gloves).
Last year Uhde finished the Club Boxing season with a 10-1 record and won regionals in Billings.
Uhde is contemplating a professional debut this summer.
"Where I go from there all depends on how hard I work," he said.
"Whether I box for 10 more years or my career ends soon, I would eventually like to give back to the amateur program by coaching kids."
Salway is a Montana Tough Man champion (2002) and runner-up (2000).
He was a national Junior Olympic silver medalist in 1988 and a Junior Olympic contestant in 1989.
Salway claimed the Lethbridge, Alberta, Golden Gloves title in 1989 and was a state Silver Gloves champ from 1986-88.
"Boxing has always been a part of my life," said Salway.
"Through Bob LeCoure's Club Boxing program, I am able to continue to do what I enjoy."
