Bulldogs, Vikings survive loser out

RONAN - Ashley Ferda scored 22 points as Whitefish advanced to the consolation final with a 53-49 overtime win over Bigfork on Friday in the Northwestern A Divisional.
The Bulldogs had to rally in the fourth quarter to force OT, then outscored Bigfork 10-6 in the extra session.
Hannah Hilley led the Vals with 20 points and seven rebounds. Nikki Thompson had 10 points before fouling out.
The two teams combined for 53 personal fouls and 79 free throws, which balanced out sub-30 percent shooting from the field for both schools.
Whitefish will play Ronan for the consolation championship today at 1 p.m.

RONAN - Des Krell scored 15 points and had seven rebounds as Ronan rallied in the fourth quarter to force overtime, then finished off Columbia Falls 56-51.
Jamie Lake added 14 points for the Maidens, who will play Whitefish for the consolation championship today at 1 p.m. Bridget Taylor scored 10 points for Ronan.
The Wildcats were led by Jenna Toole's 15 points and six rebounds. Danielle Herman chipped in with 11 points. Bekah Stoltz and Kim Pearce each had eight rebounds.

RONAN - Jimmy Michel had 21 points and Aaron Skogen 19 to lead Ronan to a 52-47 win over Polson.
The Chiefs outscored Polson 15-4 in the second period then held off a third-quarter Pirate run to stay in front.
Colton Woods had 14 points to lead the Pirates. Gabe Caye added 11.
Ronan will play Bigfork for the consolation championship today at 2:30 p.m.

RONAN - Bigfork held Whitefish to just nine points in the first half and limited the Bulldogs to 27 percent shooting to advance to the consolation final versus Ronan.
Cy Murer led all scorers with 13 points plus six rebounds for the Vikings.
Mike McCracken paced Whitefish with 11 points.
