Flathead County sheriff

| February 26, 2005 1:00 AM

Flathead County sheriff's deputies are looking into possibly stolen license plates. Alaska residents who own property near Kalispell have not been here for a year, but now are receiving notices of traffic tickets for the plates. It appears they may have been put on a truck.

Things are being moved around inside a Hungry Horse garage, and the owner doesn't like it.

Spinning brodies seemed like the thing to do for at least two drivers Thursday night. Just before midnight, the driver going in circles on U.S. 2 East just south of Windmill Storage got arrested for it; deputies found a marijuana pipe in the vehicle after the driver went to jail and his parole officer gave permission to search the vehicle. Just after midnight, the other driver in a parking lot got a warning.

Allegations of sexual assault by a 12-year-old against a 7-year-old are being investigated.

It turned out to be an unarmed disagreement between two men at Majestic Valley Arena, but had escalated into charges of assault and threats with a gun by the time the sheriff's office got a report. The wife of one man accidentally got bumped in the fracas.

Somebody used a crowbar to try breaking into a car in broad daylight Friday afternoon.
