Shirley Jean Backer, 59

Shirley Jean Backer, 59, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Brendan House in Kalispell. She was born June 23, 1945, in West Sacramento, Calif., to William and Marie Watters.

Shirley was united in marriage to Roy Backer on Jan. 20, 1963. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1993.

Shirley enjoyed gardening, reading, listening to music and keeping up with her family and grandchildren's activities. She loved being with others and shared with all her beautiful smile.

Shirley also was thankful and loved the care givers and other residents at Brendan House.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her four sons, Joseph, Jason, Joshua and Jacob Backer; and her daughter, Jennifer Backer; and eight grandchildren.

There will be no visitation or services.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
