Columbia Falls, without four starters, drops dual 49-28
COLUMBIA FALLS - It was a coaching nightmare for Columbia Falls' Wes Knutson.
Out of Tuesday's lineup for a dual outing with Polson were four key starters.
A case of the flu had one varsity performer watching while a auto accident claimed another.
Knee surgery and sore ribs had two more out of action.
As a result, Polson emerged with a 49-28 dual victory.
"One thing I was proud of tonight was all our freshmen battled," said Knutson.
"We had six in the lineup."
One - Jesse Woodward - wrestling at 189 posted a victory.
He pinned A.J. Angelo in 4:33.
Beau Hader, filling in for one of the missing starters, posted a pin at 125.
Aric Tarr, 119, won by decision 8-2; Dalvin Averill, 135, won by decision 12-4; Ryan Buck, 145, won by decision 8-1; and Tommy Church, heavyweight, won by a fall in 3:43.
Columbia Falls wrestles next at Whitefish Thursday, then travels to Cut Bank Friday.
