Blacktail holds Safety on Snow program this weekend

Blacktail Mountain Ski area is teaming up with Kalispell Regional Medical Center's Family Resources and Flathead Valley Search and Rescue to offer a Safety on Snow Program this weekend.

A booth will be set up at the Blacktail lodge on Saturday outlining helmet safety and awareness. Blacktail Mountain Trading Company will be offering a sale on all children's helmets and a KRMC representative will be on hand to ensure children are properly fitted.

At 11 a.m. both days, Blacktail's ski patrol will offer an educational tour of the mountain and will cover basic safety issues in winter conditions as well as answer any questions about their responsibilities on the mountain.

At 1 p.m. Sunday the Flathead Valley Search and Rescue dogs will offer a skills demonstration at the top of Blacktail Mountain.
