The Kalispell City Planning Board on Tuesday will consider plans for a new day care for Kalispell Regional Medical Center and a subdivision near Three Mile Drive.

The Flathead Hospital Development Co. wants a conditional use permit that would allow it to move Kid Kare, its existing day care center, from Conway Drive 66 Claremont St.

The building houses a veterans clinic on the lower floor and has an available 8,000 square feet on the upper floor that would be converted into the day-care center.

The new building would accommodate 94 children. The current center accommodates about half as many children.

The planning board also will hear a request from Touchstone LLC to zone approximately 50 acres of land as urban single-family residential when the land is annexed. The property is located on the northeast corner of Three Mile Drive and Farm to Market Road.

The project is called Mountain Vista and would include 110 lots for single-family homes, 60 townhouse lots and one commercial lot. The developer also seeks recommendation of preliminary plat approval.

At Tuesday's meeting, the Tri-City Planning Office staff will update the board on recent decisions the City Council made on recommendations from the board. The board plans to receive updates as part of regular proceedings during its meetings.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers in City Hall.
