Norma M. "Frenchy" Henry, 100, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Brendan House in Kalispell.

She was born on June 25, 1904, in the LaSalle area of Kalispell, the daughter of Joseph Oscar and Emma Margaret (Sievers) Gravelle. She attended schools in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead County High School.

Following her graduation, she worked for the family business, The Bottling Works in Kalispell. On Sept. 11, 1937, she was united in marriage to John Clark Henry in Seattle.

During World War II she worked in precision work at Boeing Aircraft in Seattle. After the war she became a homemaker where she enjoyed her flowers and was an avid gardener.

Following Clark's retirement from the railroad, they returned to Kalispell to be closer to family. She remained in the home she shared with Clark and, following his death, remained until she became a resident of Brendan House, two years ago.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clark, in 1982; and her sisters, Leona Gravelle, Celeste Graham and Justina Morris; and a niece, Norma Jeanne Gates.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, including Robbin Gates of Missoula, Robert Gates and his wife Joan of Kalispell, John Morris and his wife Peggy of Whitefish, and Joe Morris and his wife Joyce of Seeley Lake, and their families; and a dear friend, Linda Rollin, of Seattle.

Graveside services will be private by the family. There will be no visitation.

The family suggests that memorials be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
