MISSOULA - First time in two years.

It had been two years since the Flathead Bravette varsity basketball team won a game in Missoula.

The Bravettes (2-2, 4-3) erased those bad memories Thursday with a 45-40 win over Missoula Hellgate.

"It's a great win," said coach Dennis Latimer afterward. "I feel really good about this.

"I thought we did a good job of shutting down their inside threat of (Annie) Seaman and (Maria) McNeil," Latimer said.

That was the key.

"We just limited their touches inside," he said.

McNeil finished with 16 points, but Seaman finished with just six points.

"We got some great play from (junior) Kristina Ylinen," said Latimer.

"She really played tough defense and got two free throws for us when it really counted.

"Overall, I was really happy with our game plan and the way the girls executed it," he added.

Holli Hashley led Flathead with 18 points.

The Bravettes play host 7:30 p.m. Saturday to Helena High.
