COLUMBIA FALLS - Drew Perry scored 19 points and Anthony Minson added 16 as Columbia Falls defeated Polson 59-45 Thursday night.

Perry and Minson combined for 18 of the Wildcats' 23 points in the decisive second quarter, as Columbia Falls (7-1 overall, 2-1 conference) turned a three-point deficit to start the period into a 13-point halftime advantage.

The Wildcats travel to Corvallis on Saturday. Polson hosts Libby tonight.

Bigfork triumphs

BIGFORK - Bigfork used a big second quarter to pull away for a 57-42 Northwestern A boys basketball victory Thursday over Whitefish.

Bigfork (2-1 and 5-3), outscored Whitefish (0-5 and 0-10) 18-7 in the second stanza for a 28-17 halftime advantage.

The two teams combined for 60 free throws in the contest.

LIBBY - Aaron Sutton tossed in 21 points to guide Libby to a 75-24 nonconference boys basketball victory Thursday evening over Troy.

Wildkats stumble

COLUMBIA FALLS - Polson handed No. 4 Columbia Falls its first Northwestern A loss of the girls basketball season on Thursday, 54-50.

The Pirates (2-1 and 5-3) were led by Strohm Fouty's 18 points.

Kim Pearce paced Columbia Falls (2-1 and 6-2) with 19 points.
