CF city attorney arrested

Columbia Falls City Attorney Eric Kaplan was arrested Saturday night for DUI.

Kaplan, 57, was reportedly involved in a slide-in accident on Columbia Falls Stage Road. No one was hurt. He was charged with DUI by Montana Highway Patrol.

He was taken to the Flathead County jail, where he was released into the custody of Columbia Falls Police Chief Dave Perry hours later.

Bond was set at $545.

Columbia Falls City Manager Bill Shaw said Monday he was unaware of the arrest.

Calls to Kaplan's office and home went unanswered.
