Orville S. Solberg, 77

Orville S. Solberg, 77, "went home to be with Jesus," Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Yuma, Ariz.

He was born March 11, 1927, in Whitewater, Mont., to Simon S. and Olive (Frigaard) Solberg. Orville had a residence in Hot Springs, but enjoyed his winter home in Yuma.

Orville married Marilyn Hadford in 1950. They were later divorced.

Orville loved trucking. He spent his earlier years driving truck and logging with his brothers. He started Solberg Trucking in 1981, mainly hauling wood chips from Olney to Missoula. He operated the business until his retirement in 1996.

On Oct. 28, 2000, Orville married Polly Olson. He loved music and would gather weekly with other couples to play guitar and sing. He loved exploring the desert. Polly and Orville loved traveling together and were always known as the "newlyweds."

Orville was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings, and a son, Wesley Solberg.

Orville is survived by his wife, Polly Solberg, of Hot Springs;

three children, Glena Solberg-Kosovich of Seattle, Darlene Nardi of Kalispell, and Chris Solberg of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two stepdaughters, Misty Olson and Jessie Olson; and one stepgrandson, J.J.; one brother, "Mike" Solberg of Othello, Wash.; two sisters, Grace Cowell of Colbert, Wash., and Hazel Lacock of Saco. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Erin and Camden Kelley, and Chandra and Jonathon Solberg.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, in the Johnson Mortuary Chapel; a private burial will follow. A memorial service will be held later in the day at 4 p.m. at the New Life Christian Center in Polson.

Visitation will be held at Johnson Mortuary from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The family suggests that memorials be given to Hospice Home Health Options, 175 Commons Loop, Ste. 100, Kalispell, MT 59901 or the charity of your choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Mortuary and Crematory.
