Arrest made in sexual assault

Kalispell police Friday arrested a man in connection with a brazen sexual assault at Kalispell Center mall on Jan. 6.

Sgt. Scott Warnell said a 16-year-old girl was leaving the mall at about 6:45 p.m. As she tried to get into her car, Joshua J. Aczas, 27, of Kalispell, grabbed and molested her, Warnell said.

The girl got away and left, but noted what Aczas' van looks like, Warnell said.

Friday, she saw the van again and got a license plate number, which is registered to Aczas.

Officer Carl Brisendine interviewed Aczas and he was charged with sexual assault.

"He did a good job," Warnell said of Brisendine.
