Lions fall to Loggers

EUREKA - Much closer this time.

Eureka hung right with rival Libby until the very end, falling 38-32 Tuesday in nonconference girls basketball play.

"I was fairly pleased with the way the kids played," Eureka coach John Hammond said. "They beat us by 27 in Libby (earlier in the season). It was back-and-forth the whole game."

Nicole Rowan tallied 12 points for Libby (8-4). Amy Roberts led Eureka with 12.

Eureka had 23 turnovers in the contest.

"That hurt us tonight," said Hammond.

POLSON - Jenny Nesladek scored a career high 16 points, but it still wasn't enough to lead Polson to victory Tuesday.

Lauren Lynch tallied 20 points and Des Krell 18 as Ronan (3-1 league and 9-2 overall) posted a Northwestern A basketball win.

Polson (2-3 and 6-6) led for the final time at 47-45 on a trey by Nesladek. She had four 3-point goals in the contest.

Nesladek tallied 14 points in the final half.

Libby pins Polson, again

LIBBY - Seventh-ranked Libby made it two-straight over No. 3 Polson Tuesday, pinning a 45-35 Northwestern A wrestling dual loss on the Pirates. Libby, 11-2 in duals, had seven of the eight pins in the match.
