Josephine Marie (Knudson) Gregg, 91, passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, in Great Falls.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and interment of ashes will take place at a later date in Bigfork. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

She is survived by two nephews, George Kain, Spokane; and Jim Kain, Phoenix; eight stepgrandchildren, Gregg Rydquist, Great Falls; Jody Chambers, Spokane; Dennis Rydquist and Susan Merridith, Edmonds, Wash.; David Rydquist, Rapid City, S.D.; Jennifer Loustelet, Concord, Calif.; Shelby Gregg, Seattle; and Bob Lang, Maui, Hawaii; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Josephine was born June 9, 1915, the last of 12 children born to Carl and Clara Knudson. Her mother and the children homesteaded at Cohagen, in 1915.

Josephine graduated from Helena High School District in 1931. She worked for many years as a secretary for the Helena High School District. During World War II, she worked as an auditor for the Army Air Corp in Seattle.

She was married to William H. Gregg for 48 years. They farmed and made their home in Creston. She was a member of Eastern Star for over 70 years.

Josephine was preceded in death by her siblings, husband, and stepchildren, James Gregg and Marceley Rydquist.
